This area of common land overlooked by the village of Aberffraw is one of the finest dune systems in the country. As Common Land, public access is open on foot, but not for vehicles which formerly cause much damage across this site and are now restricted to parking along the main roadside or near Aberffraw village. The 1Km walk to the sea is well worth the effort - you will often have the beach to yourself, and pass through the succession of typical dune zones on the way. The dune system, like all these west coast dunes on the island, dams a shallow lake, Llyn Coron, at its landward extremity.
