CLEGIR MAWR SSSI

North of Port Swtan (Church Bay) overlooking Holyhead Bay, the coastal path weaves along the clifftop, passing through steep bracken and heather slopes where the rare spotted rockrose can be seen by the observant eye. This, the county Flower, appears early in the day in June, dropping its petals by late morning and often being seen later as just dry chaff. Look out also for chough, making their presence more obvious, and for a small colony of fulmar on the cliff below.
